Implemented in 177 schools, with 370 trained teachers, it benefited more than 45,000 students over time in the following regions: II-III-IV-IX-X and Santiago. It is an elementary school, science teaching program for both rural and urban schools. Beginning as a “test” program it was soon incorporated as part of the school curriculum.
The program focused on direct experience and simple activities to strengthen the capacity to research and use the scientific method. The program is divided in modules on earth, water, air, space and ecosystems. It revitalized scientific education and was highly applauded for its innovative methodology and capacity to integrate different subjects.
